Our Emotional Self
"You're SO emotional!"
I've heard it a thousand times, from my father, from bosses, from romantic partners, clearly meant as a derogatory statement. But I've learned over the years that emotion is just as valuable as intellect and no one should be sorry for being emotional, whether at home or in the workplace!

That said, we can certainly be emotionally unwell, just as we can be physically unwell. The key is learning the difference between healthy expression of emotion, and emotion that overwhelms us.

Our emotional self encompasses how we feel, think, and act in response to stress, adversity and success, as well as changes
in ourselves and the world around us.

Our emotional selves are complex, multi-dimensional and BIO/PSYCHO/SOCIAL
